MacGregor is looking for a Senior Engineer, Hydraulics (with experience in motion compensated equipment) who will design and provide technical documentation according to the project requirements. In this role you will follow the MacGregor project execution model and follow up and supervise external/hired engineers.

The location of the position is Kristiansand, Norway.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Design, modify and Optimise equipment from existing product portfolio
  • Develop new efficient and sustainable concepts and solutions
  • Discuss and provide input to technical solutions with Technical Advisors, Product Owners and Discipline Managers
  • Deliver designs on budget, time and quality. Report progress, identify project risk and suggest mitigating actions
  • Assist in the tender phase (read and comment on customer specifications, highlight deviations, and produce required documentation)
  • Create models and simulations of hydraulic systems to predict system performance, potential issues and propose corrective actions using Simulation tools
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge in the field of hydraulic engineering as well as class requirements international standards, and country regulation regarding product design
  • Advise and guide other engineers, acting as a mentor in your area of expertise
  • Provide internal and external technical support
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager (including flexibility for travel if required)

What you’ll need to succeed

  • University degree (M.Sc. / B.Sc.) within Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a global organisation
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and practices
  • Collaborative with developed multicultural communication skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, E3 and SimulationX software
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Good technical English skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to continuous improvement
