We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer for our team in Taipei. In this role you will find opportunities for strong career progression by contributing to our large scale local and international projects. You will apply your working experience in providing engineering services to clients including technical advisory, lender's engineering, owner’s engineering and construction management services. You will be working hand-in-hand across the global Mott MacDonald Group as part of a large project team to deliver on our global projects.

You will be challenged with a wide variety of innovative projects, such as offshore wind, battery energy storage, and solar PV, meaning that every day will be different and a chance to expand your skills. You will be working with our solar, wind and battery experts, as well as other disciplines of professionals, to deliver prestigious projects. You will have the opportunity to directly contribute to a greener, cleaner future for Taiwan and the Asia region.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to

  • Electrical design review of solar PV, energy storage and/or wind projects, including substation design and grid interconnection.
  • Review electrical construction quality, testing and commissioning procedures and results.
  • Work with electrical engineering team to produce electrical-related drawings and calculations for concept design, FEED design or detailed design of energy generation system.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise.
  • Collaborating with other team members (both locally and globally), across disciplines and sectors, to deliver high quality work, encourage innovation and open opportunities with connected thinking.

What can you bring to the team?

  • A good Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer status is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Taiwanese Grid Code requirements.
  • Knowledge of International Electrical Code Standards is preferable.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in project delivery of electrical generation projects. Direct work experience in wind, solar or battery energy projects across Asia region is a plus.
  • Passion for renewable energy.
  • Full proficiency in English and Mandarin writing and speaking.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking.
  • Self-driven and quality-oriented mindset, with a willingness to bring your best to every project.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm to work on a variety of different types of projects, according to our client’s requirements.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel when needed for project site visits or client meetings.
  • Project management and business development skill is a plus.
