To put it short: Vestas Power Solutions develops the sustainable power systems of the future.

Within the business unit Vestas Power Solutions, the department Converter & Electrical Module is responsible for technology and product development of the wind turbine's frequency converters, their control, and high-voltage transformers, switchgear, and cables. The department is organized into several sub-modules, and one specifically covers Switchgears and Cables. Switchgears and Cables are designed, manufactured, and tested by qualified suppliers based on Technical Purchase Specifications and through cooperation with the Switchgear & Cables Sub-Module located in Portugal and India. We provide first-in-class solutions meeting system and grid requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation for high voltage cables, ensuring accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and effective communication of technical specifications
  • Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge and experience in cables design to create innovative and efficient solutions. Stay abreast of industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies to enhance the design process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Competencies

  • Cable Expertise: Possess a good background and proven experience in high voltage cable design, demonstrating a deep understanding of relevant technologies, components, and industry best practices
  • Extraverted Communication: Exhibit positive extraverted communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders. Create an open and collaborative environment for good project execution
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, identifying challenges and proposing innovative solutions to develop and maintain high voltage switchgears effectively
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly as part of a multidisciplinary team, leveraging interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals
  • Adaptability: Exhibit adaptability to evolving project requirements, industry standards, and technological advancements. Embrace change and proactively seek continuous improvement in design processes
