MISSION

  • Manage and coordinate the grid connections process for new wind, solar and storage projects from preliminary site identification up to construction and then operation.
  • Taking a lead role in discussions and foster relationships with distribution and transmission network operators in Germany.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Assisting in the selection of new sites, leading pre-application calls with the distribution and transmission network operators and fostering working relationships.
  2. Preparation of application documentation and reviewing received offers, providing technical advice to the development and management teams to ensure projects have technically and commercially sound connection agreements.
  3. Maintaining a network of competent consultants and managing third parties to provide technical grid support services.
  4. Work with project management and the business development teams to ensure all engineering factors are accounted for during the development process and determine and optimize grid related financial modelling inputs for ongoing projects and acquisition opportunities.
  5. Support project tendering, reviewing documentation and providing input at the concept design, detailed design and construction phases to ensure successful project delivery.
  6. In the project construction phase, support the construction team by coordinating and witnessing testing activities, analyzing plant performance, and working pro-actively with distribution and/ or transmission network operators to resolve issues while also maintaining compliance and Grid Code requirements.
  7. Representing EDP Renewables professionally, establishing and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders.

REQUIRED PROFILE

ACADEMIC LEVEL
Appropriate degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering or related discipline.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

From 5-8 years of experience in wind and/or solar, storage project development from a grid perspective.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

  • Experience of working on renewable energy projects, ideally wind, solar and storage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electricity grid, experience on planification, implementation and application for grid connections in Germany for renewable energy systems
  • Ability to optimization the grid connection applications.
  • .Knowledge of the AC and DC electrical design of solar PV plants and grid connection methodologies.
  • Knowledge of HV electrical equipment, control systems, SCADA, protection, and metering.
  • Knowledge of the DNO’s processes for renewable generator connections in Germany.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation with respect to electrical systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information and concepts to non-technical third parties.

LANGUAGES

Fluent German and English

  • German Driving License .Stakeholder management.
  • Able to work independently as well as a key part of a team.
  • Excellent written German and report writing skills.
  • Capable organization skills and a collaborative and skilled communicator.
