Energy Efficiency Financing - Product Lead

For more than ten years, STX Commodities has been active in trading of energy efficiency certificates in France, Poland and Italy. The team is continuously expanding its activities to enable the origination and access to finance for energy efficiency projects. With origination activities already in place in France, Poland, Spain and Italy, the team increasing its capacity to offer tailored financing solutions to our clients in all of these markets. As the Energy Efficiency Financing – Product Lead, you will play an important role by leading the scale up of our financing infrastructure through which we currently offer off-balance sheet financing solutions to STX’s clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Structuring and execution of infrastructure investments across EU markets with a key focus on energy efficiency projects with industrials and tertiary clients;
• Coordinate, together with internal departments and external advisors, the implementation of special purpose vehicles with a focus on fulfilling the commercial needs of the team;
• Financial modelling, risk assessment and preparation of investment memoranda for investment committees;
• Conducting commercial due diligence and coordinating legal and technical of energy efficiency investments;
• Participate in the drafting of the main project contracts, negotiate them with stakeholders, in conjunction with external advice (legal, technical, etc.);
• Identify and mitigate underlying technical and contractual risks of each project;
• Actively support the commercial team in the search for new projects, conducting detailed market analyses and origination activities to identify potential infrastructure investments and new partners in target markets;
• Ensure technical, operational and financial monitoring of projects, by participating in internal governance and decision-making bodies, in conjunction with the Structured Finance Department;
• Portfolio and relationship management of long-term business partners regarding existing investments;
• Fundraising activities and due diligence process of potential new investors and loan providers.

Key Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience in financing infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy efficiency sector;
• Having financed projects structured with energy performance (shared savings) and/or energy as a service contracts;
• Excellent English language skills, proficiency in French, Spanish or Italian are a plus;
• Proactive, hands-on, analytical skills;
• Used to work in a multi-cultural international environment.
