Job Description

This critical senior role is responsible for delivery of assigned construction projects. It will play a leading role in the final-stage development and delivery of the Liverpool Range Wind Farm a GW-scale landmark project in the NSW Central West Orana REZ, FID for which is targeted in Q4 2026.

The purpose of this role is to plan and deliver tightly controlled, successful construction projects including the development and implementation of robust project management systems and tools. Leadership of a project and SME team is essential, along with the ability to develop and enhance relationships with broad project stakeholders and delivery partners.

It is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in the strategy, planning and execution of a high-profile major infrastructure project, crucial for NSW and one of the largest wind farms in Australia. In turn it will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to demonstrate and develop strong development, delivery, and leadership skills.

Reporting to the Project Director and working closely with senior and executive leaders in the business, success will require strong collaboration and leadership as part of a skilled cross-function team. Initially the role will support preparation of the project for a successful FID, including procurement, contract negotiation, and execution-planning processes. Following FID the role will be accountable for the construction and commissioning of the project, managing assigned site-based and project reports, and coordinating subject matter experts from across the business including Engineering, Grid, Planning, Finance, and Health & Safety.

Contractor management and oversight of external resources such as the Owners' Engineer is also key to success. The individual will develop and manage strong relationships with key delivery partners (contractors, suppliers) and broad project stakeholders.

The role will also contribute to the growth and continuous improvement of Tilt Renewables' capabilities, representing the Delivery function in collaboration with the wider team to develop deep capability and leading processes to support significant growth planned for the business.

Key Accountabilities

The key accountabilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Project Planning: Support the development and meticulous planning of renewables projects, as the accountable delivery/construction SME, to enable final investment decision and successful project execution.
  • Project Delivery: Provide effective management and oversight of large, complex multi-disciplinary renewable generation projects. Lead assigned construction projects to achieve strategic, time, cost, and quality objectives, overseeing all stages from design and procurement through to final investment decision, construction, implementation, and closeout. Continuously develop and execute robust project execution plans, manage consultants and advisers.
  • Contract and Risk Management: Establish and operate robust contractual and risk management frameworks to support planning and delivery of project and strategic objectives. This includes preparing, negotiating, and managing project procurement and contract documentation, and implementing strong commercial and contractual structures for assigned projects. Maintain effective contract correspondence and manage claims or disputes professionally to achieve "best for project" outcomes. Oversee contractor and consultant performance to ensure delivery against agreed specifications, budgets, and timelines. Ensure all contracts and associated risks are actively managed throughout construction to maximise shareholder value, minimise exposure, and support strong project relationships and outcomes.
  • Project Management Systems: Contribute to and lead the development, implementation and maintenance of robust project management systems, policies and documentation. Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with good industry practice (PMBOK or equivalent) and company guidelines, supported by "fit for purpose" tools that enable effective oversight and reporting. Provide training and guidance to project personnel to ensure consistent adoption of systems and processes across the business. Maintain well controlled projects with functional systems that deliver required outputs, including detailed reporting to inform Management and the Board, and ensure all personnel can appropriately utilise project management frameworks-for-purpose tools that enable effective oversight and reporting.
  • Financial Management: Ensure projects are procured and delivered within an agreed commercial framework, supported by detailed and robust financial reporting systems. Contribute to business case development and provide informed recommendations for Management and Board consideration. Prepare and manage project budgets in line with company governance requirements and maintain active financial cost management and reporting throughout project delivery. Ensure all allocated projects meet approved budget parameters, comply with financial governance policies, and provide clear, accurate financial reporting to support effective oversight and decision making.
  • Leadership: Provide effective leadership and management of direct reports and cross-functional project teams, maintaining professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Support team members to build and develop the skills and performance attributes needed to meet business and personal development goals. Set clear targets, monitor performance, and ensure regular performance reviews are completed. Maintain open, professional communication across all levels of the company, ensuring effective liaison between business units. Foster an environment of approachability and timely issue resolution, ensuring team members are engaged, clear on their responsibilities, and contributing effectively to business outcomes.
  • Health, Safety, Environment and Compliance: Maintain strong adherence to company policies with a clear focus on health, safety and environmental responsibility. Manage a proactive approach to HSE that promotes a strong safety culture, prevents workplace injuries and supports improved public safety. Ensure all projects are delivered with HSE as a core priority for internal and external parties, including monitoring contractor HSE systems and compliance to drive superior safety and environmental performance. Support and implement company HSE initiatives, maintain safe working environments, ensure compliance with environmental permits, and action any incidents with appropriate reporting and follow-up to uphold high standards of safety and compliance.
  • Cross Function Collaboration: Establish relationships and work closely with functions and teams across the business to meet project objectives including orderly handover of assigned projects from Development to Delivery and Delivery to operations. Support Development and Operations teams, providing SME advice (e.g. construction, Project Management) as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the team to continually improve business capability and processes in support of significant growth planned for the business - both within Delivery and in support of improving outcomes across the project life cycle.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum graduate degree in Engineering, Construction or other related technical discipline.
  • PMP or similar certification/knowledge desirable.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience managing the delivery of power infrastructure projects.
  • Preference for strong wind farm development/construction experience.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts relating to equipment supply, construction and the provision of maintenance services.
  • Understanding of the Australian National Electricity Market and associated grid connection rules and processes.
  • Understanding of Australian environmental and planning regulations.
  • Demonstrable background in health and safety culture management on large infrastructure projects.
  • Full Drivers Licence
