Job Description

Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.

We're creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.

But we're not stopping there. We're also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for electrifying their homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours, and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability - a critical foundation for scaling AI data centers and other energy-intensive industries.

Purpose

The Site Manager will lead and oversee all on-site construction activities across utility-scale solar and BESS projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.

This role is responsible for day-to-day site operations, contractor coordination, quality control, and programme delivery across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes. The position will act as the on-site leader, ensuring all works are executed in line with design, safety standards, and project timelines.

This position reports to the Group Construction Manager.

Responsibilities we will trust you with

  • Manage site mobilisation, setup, and logistics to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Oversee civil, mechanical, and electrical installation works (piling, mounting structures, modules, inverters, cabling)
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and technical specifications
  • Drive productivity and resolve on-site issues to maintain project momentum

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a safety-first culture across all site activities
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and company safety standards
  • Review and approve RAMS, method statements, and permits prior to execution
  • Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety audits
  • Manage incidents, near misses, and corrective actions

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate and manage all subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project scope and timelines
  • Act as the primary on-site interface with EPC contractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams
  • Support client engagement and represent the company during site visits and progress reviews

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Support the QA/QC Lead in maintaining quality standards across all site activities
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and installation best practices
  • Facilitate inspections, snagging, and close-out activities with subcontractors
  • Proactively identify and escalate quality issues and non-conformances to the QA/QC team for resolution

Programme & Progress Management

  • Monitor and report on project progress against schedule and key milestones
  • Support short-term and long-term planning, including lookahead schedules
  • Identify risks to delivery and implement mitigation strategies
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to senior stakeholders

Commissioning & Handover Support

  • Support Senior Authorised Person (SAP) in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities across site
  • Ensure installation works are completed in line with programme and are ready for inspection, testing, and energisation
  • Coordinate site access, logistics, and contractor readiness to enable efficient commissioning and energisation activities
  • Assist in the preparation of site conditions for handover, ensuring works are complete and aligned with project requirements
