We are currently seeking candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About this Position

Our Renewable Energy Developer (ERCOT) will be responsible for creating and maintaining ownership of project development budgets, schedules, and economics. This position will work closely with subject matter experts across all aspects of project development.

Overview of Department

The East Development team is currently around 14 people. The team works primarily in the ERCOT market, on a variety of technologies, including PV, BESS and Wind. The scope of the team covers full cycle development from early stage strategy through to start of construction, with a primary focus on project management to maintain schedule, budget, and economic value of the project. Team coordinates closely with all major SME departments on a daily basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support all aspects of wind, solar, BESS, and load project development, from early-stage strategy through to start of construction.
  • Day-to-day management of project budgets, schedules, and development tools.
  • Own financial modeling and analysis to advise key transactions as well as evaluate and frame project development risks and opportunities.
  • Support counterparty relationships and contract negotiations with transmission utilities, offtakers, tax consultants, land agents, real estate attorneys.Prepare materials for senior management team and capital deployment committees.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with other internal teams including development, engineering, origination, and finance as well as external counterparties including consultants.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of renewable project development, project finance, or acquisition experience.
  • Financial modeling expertise using Microsoft Excel or other modeling programs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience in finance, power marketing, interconnection process management is preferred.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
  • Position is part of a remote team, with regular electronic and video communication.
  • Position requires some travel for company-wide meetups: ~4 weeks total through a calendar year.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: USD $85,000 - $95,000 or CAD$129,000 - $136,000 base salary with 25-35% annual target bonus.
