Senior/ Plant Manager - Materials Recovery Facility

Purpose and Scope

Reporting to the Head of Recycling, you will assist to oversee the operations of the Material Recovery Facility and internal fleet logistic.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operational KPIs, deployment of heavy equipment, equipment operators and sorters
• Provide administrative support to operations, generating reports and other administration work
• Ensure full safety compliance of the plant operations and Standard Operation Procedure
• Budget for operation expenses and manpower
• Manage inventory, customers and other operational functions for better workplace efficiency and goal achievement
• Oversee safety training and training plan for executive and direct labour
• Conduct investigation on accident and root cause analysis
• Oversee ad-hoc special projects and assignments

Plant Reliability

• To run the plant safely with no incident
• Work with maintenance manager to ensure no breakdown of the wood chip, waste Strader and conveyor belt system
• Planning and review of BCP

Plant Efficiency

• Baseline study of manpower and productivity and drive higher efficiency
• Digitalisation of manual processes thus free up routine administration
• Drive data collection, diagnostic of issue and diverting resources in order to be sustainable

Plant Growth

• Expand on maintenance team capability for internal depot maintenance eg simple repair works of lighting, power point, water pipe
• Expand on plant’s processing capability eg processing other feedstock eg food waste, horticulture etc
• Expand on feedstock supplier and offtaker
• Planning for NRP’s exist to IWMF. Eg leveraging on site for alternative business

Qualification, Skills and Experience

• Possess a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in any discipline
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience, with knowledge in heavy equipment operations and plant operations
• Proficient in Microsoft office, SAP applications
• Possess class 3 driving license
• Able to work in fast pace environment
• Working experience in plant and Certified Energy Manger would be advantageous
