Intern, Contracts Engineer

Sembcorp Specialised Construction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, provides design and build services with an in-house multidisciplinary consultancy. Specialising in building, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects, we deliver innovative and efficient solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Building Services Consultancy & Project Site Construction (Design & Build)
• Assist in managing the financial & contractual provisions of all projects from pre-tender to post contract phases including quantities, variations, cost estimates, monthly claims, final accounts etc
• Work closely with Project Manager in preparing monthly updated project costing
• Assist in developing suitable subcontract conditions for specific project requirements
• Help prepare project budgeting and costing reports
• Assist in cost estimating, quantity take off, claims preparation, variations and final accounts.
• Assist in the review of contracts, prepare tender & contract documentations, tender analysis & reporting, measurement etc
• Assist in reviewing sub-contractors claims and materials on site
• Help standardise all agreements (e.g. subcontracts and joint ventures) with alignment to contract policy

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Background in Infrastructure & Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Construction Management, Building and Project Management, Civil Engineering & Construction Management or equivalent
• Possess positive learning attitude and good interpersonal skills to coordinate and collaborate on work processes on a multi-disciplinary basis
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good understanding & knowledge of contracts law and its application
• Preferably conversant in using CostX and/or Glodon Cubicost measurement software
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Due to the sensitive nature of the project, only Singaporean candidates will be considered
