Commissioning Lead - Solar

We are currently looking for a Commissioning Lead who will represent the project owner in overseeing and ensuring the successful commissioning of a utility-scale solar farm. The role will be responsible for monitoring and verifying that all commissioning activities are executed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the owner's representative during the commissioning phase, ensuring all activities meet contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
• Review and validate commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules submitted by the EPC contractor.
• Monitor field execution of commissioning activities for solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Witness and verify functional and performance testing of systems and equipment.
• Identify and escalate any deviations, deficiencies, or risks to the Commissioning Manager and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues during commissioning.
• Ensure all commissioning documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with project requirements.
• Support the transition from commissioning to operations, including punch list resolution and final acceptance.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Commissioning Manager and project team.
• Travel to and remain on-site for the duration of the commissioning phase, as required.

Here's what you'll need

• Relevant experience as Commissioning Lead / Supervisor, including experience in solar or renewable energy projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, SCADA, and grid interconnection processes.
• Experience working as an Owner's Engineer or in a similar client-representative capacity is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with commissioning standards, documentation practices, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a dynamic project environment.
