Job Description

Role Summary

  • E&C is a decentralized team leading engineering development and delivery of Energy Renewables Utility Scale Projects (Solar PV, BESS and Onshore Wind Farms (and associated infrastructures) on behalf of EDPR.
  • This role will be responsible for the supervision of the project on-site from early works, pre-construction, construction and delivery to Assets Operations.
  • To ensure compliance of project execution targets in terms of Company's HSE, Schedule, quality, environmental and costs. Coordinating & supervising activities on-site: main contractors, owner's engineering, and suppliers.
  • This role is on-site based, collaborating with contractors and Owner's engineers in the works, supervising on-site works and attending quality inspections or raising non-conformities.
  • This role will also be a key player in improving the Construction Team, supporting platform initiatives which have a real impact in Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review on detailed Project Documentation, Construction Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Quantitative Control Plan.
  • Oversee construction works and principal contractor to ensure work is completed according to approved engineered designs, the customer's requirements and industry specifications.
  • Obtain or generate signoff at each stage of the works/hold points.
  • Review and report on all construction documentation from the Construction Contractor for approval or rejection by the Owner's Construction Manager.
  • Review and oversee principle contractor's construction schedule and activities in accordance with project plan and foresee potential incidents resulting from plan changes.
  • Oversee and review the principal contractor's site access processes for all workers, ensuring suitable records are kept, and progress of work claims are reviewed in accordance with construction activities.
  • Review and oversee principal contractor's on-site Health and Safety practices, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Safety Environmental Analysis (JSEA), tool box talks, Methods of Procedures (MOP), Safety Observations, Audits/Inspections and any Safe Work Instructions (SWI), ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Review and oversee any required Work Permits for the Project, inclusive of Working at Heights, Hot Works, Journey/Travel Logs, Confined Spaces, Energisation, stakeholder engagement etc.
  • Report progress of the works by keeping activities updates based on supervisions, inspections and discussions with Contractors and Subcontractors.
  • Manage the principle contractor to report health and safety status to the EDP and company HSEQ Manager, including principal contractor's risk assessments completed and any hazards, incidents, or near misses and on site.
  • Technical Assistance Quality Assurance Supervision Plan (QASP) and Quantitative Control implementation.
  • Monitor the Construction Contractor Inspection Points Programme (IPP).
  • Assist in coordinating developer/owner deliveries and oversee supplier manufacturing and delivery activities, ensuring alignment with the project plan.
  • Conduct inspections of material arrival and construction activities.
  • Follow-up of Non-Conformities, Corrective and Preventive actions.
  • Assistance in monitoring environmental, archeological artifacts and H&S Issues on site.
  • Monitor the construction law process fulfilment according to local legislation requirements.
  • Assist when required to complete the FAT, Pre-SAT, and SAT commissioning as requested by the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Review and oversee mobilisation and demobilisation activities on the construction related components of the project inclusive of all site establishment requirements.
  • Warranty, operations and maintenance support.
  • Ensure quality of work is maintained.
  • Attend regular follow-up meetings.
  • Work instruction analysis.
  • Final inspection of the work.
  • Maintain relationship with stakeholders.
  • Project closure.

Requirements

  • Site Supervisor/Site Manager with >3 years experience on-site (experience in PV/solar ground mounted and Substations - Electrical Infrastructure- highly valued).
  • Ability to speak English (highly valued) and local language (Japanese).
  • Management and reporting in a decentralized team.
  • Experience in supervision & quality inspection.
  • Proficient in documentation management and progress report.
  • Proactive Problem Solving skills, team player, well organized and able to deal with pressure under tight deadlines with ability to make quick and sound decisions.
  • Ability to manage contractors and deal with negotiations and quality discussions.
  • Communicating, sociable and negotiation skills.
  • Willing to learn new ways of communication & working methodology.
  • Microsoft Office.
