Solutions Portal is SELCO Foundation's flagship digital platform, designed to connect marginalized, rural, and urban communities with climate- smart, sustainable technologies and integrated ecosystem solutions.

Role Overview: Product Manager - Solutions Portal

Reports to: Senior Manager, Digital Platforms

Team Size & Structure: You will lead the Solution Portal team, which operates under the Digital Platform Initiative. In this role, you will lead collaboration with SELCO's Livelihood team to ensure the Solution Portal's success. You will have team members supporting adoption and digital technology initiatives, as well as an engineering team reporting to you for enhancements and maintenance of the Solution Portal.

Location: Bengaluru with periodic field visits Travel Expectations: 20- 30% travel for field engagement with communities, vendors, and partner organizations across India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Capability Building: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product and community team. Foster a culture of innovation, user empathy, and impact orientation.
  • Portal Adoption & User Growth: Increase active user adoption through direct engagement with farmers, self-help groups, and community organizations across multiple states. Develop community activation strategies and measure adoption metrics.
  • Vendor & Manufacturer Onboarding: Onboard new vendors and manufacturers by designing vendor experience, streamlining onboarding workflows, and building partnerships with manufacturer associations and trade groups.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Establish partnerships with farmer collectives, government departments (agriculture, energy, rural development), NGOs, and international organizations to amplify portal reach and integrate Solutions Portal into existing government digital ecosystems.
  • Geographic & Global Expansion: Expand Solutions Portal's footprint to new geographies by identifying high-impact regions, localizing content and user experience, and building partnerships with regional organizations. Position the portal as a one-stop solution for climate-smart technologies.
  • Digital Ecosystem Innovation: Lead ideation and product development for Solutions Portal and complementary digital tools within SELCO's Livelihood program. Design features and workflows that empower end users, vendors, and field teams to leverage digital tools for sustainable livelihoods.
  • Impact Measurement & Insights: Generate quarterly insights, field stories, and case studies demonstrating user outcomes, vendor success, and climate/livelihood impact.
  • Platform Evolution & Collaboration: Transform Solutions Portal into a collaborative platform where diverse stakeholders co-create value. Design governance structures, community guidelines, and engagement mechanisms that enable farmers, vendors, manufacturers, government agencies, and civil society to collaborate on scaling sustainable technologies.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and communicate a clear 18-24-month product roadmap aligned with SELCO's mission and organizational goals. Prioritize features based on user research, market validation, and organizational capacity.

Expected Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Product Leadership - Minimum 5- 7 years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years leading product teams or digital platforms. Demonstrated track record of designing, launching, scaling, and iterating digital products from concept to impact.
  • Digital Platform Design - Proven expertise in designing, developing, testing, and scaling digital platforms or marketplaces. Experience with user research, wireframing, prototyping, and working with engineering and design teams.
  • Social Sector Experience - Minimum 3 years working in or leading digital initiatives within social enterprises, NGOs, development organizations, or government programs. Understanding marginalized communities, grassroots, contexts, and development challenges.
  • Team Management - Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and motivate diverse teams. Experience managing cross-functional collaboration with technical, operational, and community- facing stakeholders.
  • Data- Driven Decision Making - Proficiency in defining KPIs, analyzing user data, and translating insights into product decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Strong ability to communicate complex product concepts to diverse audiences (technical teams, community members, government partners, vendors).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building platforms connecting supply and demand (e.g., vendor networks, farmer- to- buyer platforms)
  • Background in climate tech, renewable energy, agriculture, or sustainable livelihoods
  • Experience with government digital initiatives or integrations
  • Experience with community- based program design and monitoring, evaluation & learning
  • Track record of launching or scaling products that have achieved measurable social impact
