The role oversees five specialized sub‑teams - Concrete Specialists, Turbine Monitoring, 1st‑Level Technical Support, 2nd‑Level Mechanical Support, and Rotor Blade Specialists. The incumbent balances resources, ensures rapid technical resolutions, and drives continuous improvement, while escalating major issues or budget decisions to the Manager, Technical Support Operations.

- Supply data and recommendations for the annual budget; monitor cost centers and flag variances early.
Team & Workload Coordination
- Supervise roughly 20 specialists and technicians across Canada.
- Prioritize tasks, set goals, and uphold the highest health, safety, and quality standards.
- Serve as the first escalation point for site leads and technical stakeholders, forwarding complex issues to the manager as required.
Concrete Specialists
- Schedule nationwide repairs (foundations, anchor bolts, grouting).
- Optimize crew scheduling and logistics to minimize turbine downtime.
Turbine Monitoring & 1st‑Level Support
- Oversee responses to fault notifications and initial troubleshooting.
- Ensure thorough documentation of solutions and continuous feedback to field teams.
2nd‑Level Mechanical Support
- Guide in‑depth diagnostics, root‑cause analyses, and repair plans for drivetrains, gearboxes, bearing and lubrication systems.
- Produce knowledge‑base articles and technical notes for site technicians.
Rotor Blade Coordination
- Prioritize blade inspection and repair campaigns, aligning plans with outage windows and budget constraints.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Capture lessons learned and standardize procedures across teams.
- Recommend preventive actions and ensure compliance with Canadian OHS regulations and ENERCON standards.
Requirements
- Post‑secondary education in mechanical engineering or a related field (membership in the Order of Engineers is an asset).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in wind‑energy service, heavy industry, or rotating‑equipment maintenance.
- Proven experience supervising technical personnel and coordinating multi‑site operations.
- Familiarity with cost tracking or cost‑control processes (without full budget ownership).
- Strong command of wind‑turbine mechanical systems, SCADA monitoring tools, failure analysis, and maintenance best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, and problem‑solving abilities within diverse teams.
- Full bilingual proficiency in French and English, spoken and written.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel approximately 30-40 % of the time to remote sites.
