I modsætning til hardwareudviklere tilbyder DGA skræddersyet forskning og analyse og producerer indflydelsesrige rapporter som "State Strategies to Advance Medium- and Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure" og "Encouraging Clean Hydrogen Uptake in Key Sectors: A Policy Handbook for Practitioners" (kilde: dgardiner.com).

Job Description

David Gardiner and Associates (DGA) is a Washington, D.C. area-based strategic advisory firm focused on identifying and advancing proactive policy solutions to reduce emissions from the highest emitting sectors and improve access to clean energy. Our clients are an exciting mix of non-profit organizations, corporations, trade associations, and government entities. DGA also helped create and is currently providing both policy and operational support to two multi-stakeholder advocacy organizations-the Combined Heat and Power Alliance (CHPA) and the Renewable Thermal Collaborative (RTC). We help our clients advance their objectives by providing strategic guidance, conducting research and analysis, engaging in and supporting advocacy initiatives, developing and disseminating communication materials, building partnerships, and strengthening alliances. Our team integrates decades of practical experience with diverse subject matter expertise in the clean energy and climate space. DGA's workstreams continue to evolve over time, and currently include projects aimed at:

  • reliably and affordably addressing electricity load growth;
  • identifying and supporting the implementation of technically- and economically-sound solutions to reduce heat-related emissions from commercial buildings and industrial processes;
  • investigating opportunities to expand responsible deployment of clean fuels;
  • planning and developing infrastructure investments that are needed to achieve a clean energy future;
  • facilitating necessary processes for medium- and heavy-duty trucks to transition to lower emitting energy sources.

If you want to be a part of an organization driving climate change and clean energy solutions with a diverse mix of clients, partners, and co-workers, you should come work at DGA!

About the Role

The Vice President for Clean Energy will be responsible for co-managing DGA's Clean Energy Team and leading projects with clients and partners to advance clean energy policies and solutions. The Vice President will develop and execute strategies, develop new business for the firm, conduct and oversee research and analysis, shape communications efforts, advance policies and manage projects, and build partnerships among diverse parties, as well as other duties to support the firm's mission. The Vice President is a member of DGA's senior management team and will report directly to the President. The Vice President's portfolio typically touches on a broad range of clean energy issues depending on the team's projects and the selected candidate's areas of expertise. While these may include renewable electricity, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, transmission, combined heat and power, utility policy, and climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts, we hope to fill the role with someone able to hit the ground running on electricity policy, transmission planning and development, combined heat and power, and other electricity sector topics.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy - Develop and implement strategies and policies to advance innovative and equitable approaches to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate impacts. Identify new issue areas that could benefit from policy support.

Advocate with decision-makers, including, as needed, lobbying federal, state, and local governments.
  • Marketing and Business Development - Develop and maintain relationships with DGA's current and prospective clients, market DGA's work and expertise, and lead development of proposals and other marketing materials to bring in new projects for the Clean Energy Team.
  • Project Leadership - Lead projects, including managing project work, budgets, client relationships, and project teams.
  • Management - Co-manage the Clean Energy Team, including ensuring team members have the necessary tools and resources needed to deliver high-quality work, project staff are receiving regular feedback on their work, and individuals are mentored to grow in their roles. In addition, collaborate closely with the peer VP for the Clean Energy team, including regular communication on project needs, team workloads, and future work.

  • A passion for improving our climate and increasing the use of clean energy across sectors.
  • 8-12+ years of relevant work experience, with demonstrated expertise and a strong technical and strategic understanding of clean energy issues, including energy policies, the role of clean energy in corporate and other institutional sustainability efforts, and opportunities to advance change.

  • Demonstrated leadership, advocacy, and project management skills, including experience developing and managing client relationships, and excellent political skills and expertise.
  • Extensive experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, and connections with groups/companies/organizations that can advance clean energy solutions.
  • Excellent research, writing, and verbal communications skills, including the ability to synthesize and summarize complex information and present in a simple format to corporate leaders, policy makers, and other audiences.

  • Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to be proactive and work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and high-quality deliverables.
