Job Description

What you will do
Manage the design process of the assigned projects (wind, solar PV, hybrid, storage, and evacuation system) within the concerned geography in France, providing technical support both to the development phase, the contracting and construction phase, in accordance with the directives of the head of the department and applicable regulations, to guarantee the minimization of costs, compliance with deadlines and quality requirements of the projected assets.

HSE COMPLIANCE: Ensure the compliance of the local HSE legislation and regulation and company procedures in the assigned plants, leading to activities performed with a safety-conscious manner. Perform the follow-up of HSE KPI's with contractors.

PROMOTE HSE INITIATIVES: Contribute to the identification and registration of non-conformities, promote corrective and preventive actions. Implement HSE best practices and ensure that all activities are carried out under approved HSE system. Perform inspections in the plants and support the inspection/audit performed by other departments or consultants.

SERVICE PROVIDERS: Agree on the scheduling of the maintenance plans with the contractors and authorize the implementation of maintenance activities in the assigned plants. Coordinate contractors' work ensuring the fulfillment of the contractual obligations and optimizing the defined operational drivers and the performance.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES SUPERVISION: Supervision on site activities, including not only the activities of the main contractors (solar/wind and electrical system), which may include Security systems revision, predictive maintenance activities, cleaning, roads maintenance, etc.At the late phase of construction, work together with the company's development and construction teams as needed, allowing alignment and the specific knowledge sharing of the asset at the handover moment.

CONTRACTING OF COMPLEMENTARY SERVICES: Management of the complete flow of contracting complementary services (those not covered by contracts supplied centrally, such as fiber optic repairs, platform adaptation, substation building repairs, materials, etc.). This flow means: service identification, prospecting for local suppliers, request and negotiate quotations, order management and contracting.

COOPERATION WITH REMOTE OPERATION and DISPATCH CENTRE: Ensure the proper coordination with EDPR remote operation and dispatch center. Ensure proper contact with TSO and DSO in all the cases maneuvers are required to be performed remotely and locally. Transmit weekly maintenance plan to remote control and dispatching center; update maintenance programs and planned unavailability when variations occur as a consequence of environmental, meteorological conditions or occurrence of faults.

LOCAL OPERATION: Perform local operation of the plants. In particular maneuvers for the connection-disconnection of MV Lines and wind turbines / solar inverters. coordinate with EDPR dispatching center for remote and local operations to be performed. Operate MV/HV Substations locally, in case they are needed, whenever remote operations are not available.

REPORTS: Ensure the maintenance contractors reports timely and according to their contractual obligations. Ensure proper and complete recording of relevant information through the Second level SCADA adopted by EDPR (REMS) and all the tools made available by the company (i.e., SAP PM, Dynamics, OPMS, PowerBI). Review and correct automatic assignation of events through the tools provided by the company. Perform analysis based on the data collected by the SCADA systems and provide suitable information to support decisions.

LOCAL O&M MANAGEMENT

Ensure the fulfillment of the O&M model implemented by EDPR. Efficiently manage local assets with minimal losses, including the organization of daily maintenance, local plant operations, and task assignment. Maintain a deep understanding of asset requirements, analyze them, and define the optimal intervention plan, often in collaboration with contractors and alignment with direct supervisor and company goals. At the asset level, take responsibility for addressing and resolving malfunctions or accidental events.

Coordinate various suppliers involved in plant operations to execute necessary work. Manage and organize activities covered by existing maintenance contracts. Ensure accurate registration of all relevant data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by the contractor.

Work closely with primary contractors, including regular meetings to discuss contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), the progress of the maintenance plan execution, material/spare parts consumption, and validation of work quantities. Collaborate closely with the Asset Manager when necessary, facilitating cost validation.

LOCAL MANAGEMENT OF EMERGENCIES: As the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders (including EDPR management, contractors, landowners, and emergency bodies), be responsible for initiating communication in the event of accidents or any emergencies at the site. This includes adhering to the crisis management procedure and collaborating with the crisis management lead to ensure that the established protocol is followed effectively.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Participate in the ongoing process of continuous improvement across all phases (analysis, definition, implementation, monitoring). Embrace a mindset and behavior that foster the pursuit of continuous improvement in processes and operational aspects.

QUALITY CONTROL (New): Ensure the execution of Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspections in line with EDPR standards by independent entities, or/and, with the appropriate qualifications and tools, perform visual inspections and Quality Assurance and Quality Control campaigns.

COMPANY POLICY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Acknowledge and understand policies, directives and procedures implemented by EDPR. Ensure the compliance of the same by contractors.

INTERACTIONS WITH STAKEHOLDERS: Support the company activities as needed, namely on requests by Asset Management, in activities as landowner and community relationships.
What are we looking for
- Industrial technical high school Diploma. (Degree in Engineering could be considered a plus).
- Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in the wind/solar industry.
- Previous experiences on a similar role, experience on CMMS systems and relevant software's would be considered as an advantage.
- Electrical power system, transmission and distribution lines of electrical energy, substations protection and control systems.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database applications.
- Proficiency in Solar and Wind technologies.
- Proficiency in substations, their equipment, and electrical power systems.
- Knowledge of Solar and Wind plants operations.
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, control systems, and electrical systems basics.
- Strong inclination for stakeholder interaction and teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership and self-reliance in the workplace.
