Finanzspezialist (m/w/d) - SPVs

Join our team as an Especialista Financeiro(a) for our SPVs, and support our Iberian Finance team with in-house accounting (SAP), financial reporting, tax compliance, and supporting investment structures and transactions.

This position is offered under a fixed-term employment contract for a duration of 12 months, in accordance with applicable Portuguese labour law.

Your responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage the full accounting cycle of SPVs in-house using SAP
• Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping in compliance with Portuguese GAAP and IFRS
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances, loans, and financial instruments
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and audit trail

Regulatory & Tax Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Portuguese tax regulations and corporate governance requirements
• Prepare and review VAT returns, Corporate Income Tax filings, and other statutory declarations
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
• Support statutory reporting and ensure timely submission of local filings

Treasury & Cash Management

• Monitor and manage cash flow for SPVs
• Support payment processes and banking activities
• Ensure proper approval workflows and internal controls for financial transactions

Financial Analysis & Stakeholder Reporting

• Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and investors.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Assist in financial due diligence and transaction support related to SPVs.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support investment and structuring decisions

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and internal controls
• Work closely with legal, tax, and investment teams to ensure proper structuring and ongoing compliance of SPVs
• Contribute to the implementation of best practices in SPV financial management

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or SPV-related roles.
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle accounting independently, with strong knowledge of Portuguese GAAP and IFRS.
• Hands-on experience working with SAP in an in-house accounting environment.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken) is required.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with high attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and experience with SPVs or structured finance vehicles considered a strong advantage.
