PEAK Wind is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Consultant for P2X Operations Readiness to strengthen our P2X Advisory within PEAX Energy, our dedicated Power-to-X business area.
PEAK Wind is dedicated to fostering a work environment that values diversity. We encourage all interested candidates to apply, regardless of age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or ethnicity.
Empowering the Energy Transition
At PEAX Energy, we are at the forefront of the global shift toward sustainable energy. As part of the PEAK Wind Group, we specialize in delivering technical, commercial, and financial consultancy for P2X infrastructure. Our mission is to accelerate decarbonization by enabling the development of complex, integrated energy systems that convert renewable power into green fuels and chemicals.
Job Content, Responsibilities, and Possibilities
As a Senior Consultant - P2X Operations Preparations, you will support the design and implementation of best-in-class operations of P2X facilities, working together with colleagues doing the same on the generation assets where relevant (on-/offshore wind, solar PV, and BESS).
More specifically, your areas of responsibility will be:
- Lead Operations Readiness workstreams, either as part of the client project team or as a trusted external advisor, ensuring that P2X assets are 'ready to operate' across hydrogen and derivative plants such as ammonia and methanol, in compliance with relevant HSEQ requirements.
- Define and develop client project Operations strategies in collaboration with our Strategic Consulting team, covering aspects such as O&M procurement strategy, SCADA, cybersecurity, and performance management.
- Support implementation of client project Operations strategies, including procurement of Operator and Service contracts, advising clients on how to set up their Operations organisation, and supporting projects through financing/lending regarding Operations.
- Provide insight into project specification and setup of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and relevant performance measurement systems to support timely reporting on commercial, financial, and contractual performance.
- Represent the Operator in clients' EPC projects to ensure that operational and HSEQ aspects are sufficiently implemented in collaboration with the relevant project teams.
- Provide best-in-class inputs to OPEX, risk, and availability models based on prior real-world experience.
- Be the O&M package project manager as part of the client's organisation, managing schedules and budgets for the client and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders - OEMs, EPCs, and Operators.
- Prepare transfer plans and manage the thorough transfer of assets and documentation from construction and commissioning phases through to the operational phase.
- Depending on your specific profile and prior experience, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to delivering technical workstreams in the early development phase as an Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineer.
What you Bring and your Qualities
To qualify for this position, we expect that you have a degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process) or equivalent, with strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset. You should also have 5+ years of proven experience leading Operations Readiness projects for industrial process plants. Experience with hydrogen, e-fuels, ammonia, or other P2X or energy processing plants is clearly preferred, but other relevant experience will also be considered.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate brings the following skills and personal attributes:
- P2X domain expertise originating from an OEM - electrolyser or technology licensor, a Project Developer or utility developing P2X projects, or a Consultancy or Engineering firm focused on P2X or renewables
- Strong project management track record, with hands-on experience coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder projects under commercial and technical constraints
- Technical fluency; familiarity with CMMS and SCADA systems, cybersecurity, asset integrity and performance benchmarking
- Experience with P2X HSEQ requirements and ability to work with HSEQ specialists
- Structured mindset with attention to details and ability to develop structure for the Operations Readiness projects
- Excellent communicator; confident with client engagement and stakeholder management
- Willingness to travel and work on international projects
Experience the Highest Degree of Involvement
PEAX Energy is dedicated to fostering a work environment that values diversity and our values of Expertise, Passion, Unity, and Integrity are materialized through our team members every day. Here you will be able to utilize your skills while developing a strong understanding of Power-to-X as the new renewable energy asset.
