The modeling team at Bloom energy is involved with guiding product development through flow/thermal modeling of fuel cell systems. Using extensive CFD simulations and thermal analysis, the team plays a crucial role in the design, development, and operation of Bloom's products. We are looking for a Modeling Engineering (CFD and Thermal analytics) Intern to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies.

Position Responsibilities

  • Participate in design/development of our product
  • Perform thermal/CFD modeling of various components of our product and utilize modeling results to evaluate design options
  • Analyze data from various tests for thermal management
  • Create detailed reports to present modeling results to cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently earning or recently graduated with a Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Must be graduating between May 2026 and August 2027

Desired Qualifications

  • Above average GPA (3.5 or higher) in their graduate program
  • Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
  • Experience with at least one Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tool like Fluent, Icepak, or Star-CCM
  • Demonstratable experience with at least one professional or academic project encompassing a complete CFD analysis including preprocessing, model setup, and result interpretation
  • Experience with data analysis tools like Pandas, JMP, or excel VBA
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Curiosity to learn
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter

Bloom Energy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The total compensation for this position is based on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience.

The pay range for this position $45.75 to $61.00.
