Job Description

Freedom Forever is one of the fastest-growing solar companies in the U.S., known for innovation, quality, and a commitment to clean energy. We're looking for Solar Installers (Levels I-III) to join our Illinois team and help us deliver top-tier residential solar installations.

What You'll Do

As a Solar Installer, you'll be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on rooftops, ground mounts, and other structures. Depending on your level (I, II, or III), responsibilities may include:

  • Loading/unloading materials and equipment
  • Measuring, cutting, drilling, and flashing penetrations
  • Installing PV modules, racking, and electrical components
  • Performing minor electrical work (DC/AC wiring, junction boxes, conduit)
  • Reading and interpreting plan sets
  • Following safety protocols and installation standards
  • Mentoring junior installers (Installer III)
  • Communicating with customers and team members
  • Traveling to job sites and operating company vehicles

What We're Looking For

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of PV installation experience preferred (Installer III)

Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with PV products and building codes
  • Ability to install conduit (EMT, RMC, IMC, LFMC, FMC)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a criminal history check, MVR check, and 9-panel drug screen
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • This is an on-site role based in Illinois - remote work is not available

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (Employee is required to travel for business purposes, not including commute to and from work.) If required to travel, one must have a valid Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to different sites.
