Overview
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled professional to bridge the gap between business users and the development team. This role involves gathering user requirements, collaborating with developers, performing application testing, maintaining cybersecurity standards, troubleshooting issues, and providing ongoing support for web-based applications built with modern technologies. The ideal candidate should also have a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and network frameworks to ensure smooth end-to-end application data flow.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Engage with business users and stakeholders to understand and document application requirements.
- Translate user needs into clear technical specifications for developers.
- Identify potential gaps, risks, and opportunities for system improvement.
2. Development Collaboration
- Work closely with front-end and back-end developers to clarify requirements and ensure proper implementation.
- Review system designs and suggest improvements aligned with user needs and technical feasibility.
3. Application Testing & Quality Assurance
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and scenarios to validate new features and bug fixes.
- Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Report and track defects to ensure timely resolution.
4. Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Monitor and maintain the security posture of the application.
- Work with IT/security teams to implement and update security patches and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and industry cybersecurity standards.
5. Application Support & Issue Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for user-reported issues and inquiries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application-related problems promptly, escalating to the development team when needed.
- Document recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements.
6. Code Understanding & Minor Enhancements
- Review and understand the application's codebase (front-end and back-end).
- Perform code modifications, bug fixes, or enhancements when necessary.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure code quality and maintainability.
7. IT Infrastructure & Data Flow Awareness
- Understand the IT infrastructure framework that supports the application, including servers, network, firewalls, load balancers, and database connectivity.
- Map and analyze end-to-end data flow between front-end, back-end, APIs, and integrated systems to ensure reliability and performance.
- Work with the IT infrastructure/network team to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks or connectivity issues.
8. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on application performance, incidents, and user feedback.
- Provide recommendations for new features, usability improvements, or system optimizations.
- Stay updated on emerging web development trends and technologies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks such as Vue.js/React/Angular, and back-end frameworks such as Laravel/Node.js).
- Experience with SQL databases and API integrations.
- Solid grasp of IT infrastructure and networking concepts (e.g., servers, firewalls, DNS, routing, VPN, load balancing, cloud services).
- Good understanding of end-to-end application data flow from client to server to database.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
- Hands-on experience in software testing methodologies and tools.
- Ability to analyze code, debug issues, and implement small to medium code changes.
- Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with network monitoring or infrastructure tools.
- Understanding of UX/UI principles
