Role
We're looking for a hands-on leader who loves to turn cutting-edge designs into real, working technology in an advanced industrial environment. As Assembly Lead, you'll take charge of bringing our wave energy converters from concept to reality - leading all activities related to assembly and integration. You'll join our Integration & Test Team, working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marine Operations to build systems that will power a cleaner, more sustainable world.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on technical leadership for assembly of wave energy drive train products (Power Take-Off), including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system assembly & testing.
- Manage tasks to meet performance, schedule, and budget targets.
- Translate engineering designs into practical, efficient and scalable assembly procedures.
- Collaborate across teams to embed design-for-assembly (DFA) principles early in development processes.
- Represent CorPower Ocean at external assembly partners and suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement in assembly quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to industrialization of our products and scale-up of manufacturing capacity.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Develop schedules aligned with project milestones and offshore deployment timelines.
- Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary assembly team while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Train Operations & Maintenance engineers on PTO assembly and service methods.
- Support procurement activities, including component and supplier selection, manufacturing oversight, and factory acceptance testing.
- Support testing and pilot installations in the field.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years' hands-on experience leading assembly and testing of advanced mechanical and/or electrical systems.
- Deep knowledge in electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical assembly and service methods.
- Strong ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Proven capability to document and refine assembly procedures for efficiency and repeatability.
- Proficient with software tools for 2D/3D drawings, schematics, control, data analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Swedish language skills preferred but not essential.
- Degree (BSc or MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is an advantage-but your practical experience, problem-solving skills, and passion for building technology matter most.
- Broad technical knowledge and genuine passion for advanced industrial machinery.
