Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our Mechanical team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of mechanical systems for offshore substations in the renewable energy sector. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations in challenging offshore environments.
You will become part of our Renewables Division, which boasts one of the largest offshore substation project portfolios worldwide. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will contribute to innovative solutions that drive the global energy transition.
Key Responsibilities
As our new Mechanical Engineer, you will primarily work on EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) contracts for offshore substation projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Design & Engineering: Develop innovative mechanical designs and solutions in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with electrical, structural, and control systems.
- Compliance & Standards: Guarantee adherence to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations throughout all phases.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and reports to communicate design concepts and maintain accurate project records.
- Budget & Quality Control: Manage cost, hours, and quality for mechanical systems within assigned projects.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Align technical solutions with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and suppliers.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process optimization, participate in lessons learned, and contribute to engineering standards development.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Produce and manage design solutions and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate troubleshooting with clients, suppliers, and project disciplines.
- Facilitate client workshops and meetings to align scope and technical solutions.
- Clarify client requirements during tender and project phases.
- Oversee and sign off on FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests).
- Participate in concept development and optimization of technical solutions.
Your profile
Although titled Mechanical Engineer, this role involves working with multi-disciplinary systems such as diesel generator and fuel systems, requiring knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration and teamwork.
We expect that you:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or similar.
- Have experience in EPC project execution.
- Preferably have experience with diesel generator systems and offshore projects.
- Are familiar with industry standards such as DNV, IEC, and ISO.
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
