Job Description

As (Senior) Trading Operations and Flexibility Specialist in our ST Flex and Algorithmic Trading Team, you are an integral part of growing our BESS and flexible asset portfolio. You ensure front-to-end process readiness for flexibility trading across commodity and TSO markets and establish best-in-class processes and data flows within E.ON's short-term operations. You shape the further development of our operational and technical capabilities within short-term trading and manage projects, processes and partners alike. Your responsibilities include:

  • You engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure integration of flexible assets into E.ON's short term trading portfolio;
  • You ensure front-2-end business readiness in our system and process landscape and by managing implementation projects;
  • You act as business owner for our trading systems and define business requirements, in particular for algorithmic trading, market access, deal capture, and scheduling;
  • You design and coordinate short-term market access solutions and services with partners and set-up and manage trading-related contracts;
  • You take ownership for enhancing our operational and technical capabilities for short-term trading and implement new business logic, automate processes, and modernize systems;
  • You ensure data quality for accurate P&L and performance monitoring and to gain insights for the continuous improvement of algorithmic trading and optimization capabilities.

Qualifications

  • You have a university degree in energy economics, information systems, engineering, natural sciences or comparable studies;
  • You have at least 3 years of experience with trading systems and operational processes in a trading environment and experience with setting up business processes and coordinating IT developments;
  • You have professional experience in energy trading and an excellent understanding of the German Day Ahead, Intraday and ancillary service markets;
  • You have an inner drive to continuously improve our trading processes and capabilities and to leave your footprint on the future setup;
  • You are an entrepreneurial individual with a strong analytical and commercial attitude that wants to take responsibility for the growth and success of our flexibility and short-term trading;
  • You are a team player with strong communication and collaboration skills and can navigate between interests of a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders;
  • You have excellent spoken and written communication skills in English; good command of German is seen as a plus.
