The company is establishing large-scale production sites for green hydrogen, based on 100 percent renewable energy, at different locations in Norway. We will operate an intelligent logistics network to ensure cost-efficient and smart delivery of Green Hydrogen-as-a-service to customers in Europe.

To strengthen our fast-growing team, we are seeking a Process Safety Manager.

Gen2 Energy are rapidly maturing our project portfolio for setting up a complete supply chain for green hydrogen. Our projects envelope all aspects of establishing safe- and secure production facilities and distribution channels for green hydrogen from Norwegian water sources right to points of use. Whilst maturing our projects we strengthen our core team preparing for the future management of our assets in a safe and compliant manner. We develop our projects and safety management based on principles of inherently safer design, barrier management and process safety management with the ultimate goal of preventing accidents and harm to our people and surroundings in our assets lifetime perspective. To reach our ambitions and obligations we now strengthen our team with a new position as Process Safety Manager who's key role will be to support our project teams in the area of process safety, technical safety and risk management, as well as acting as an ambassador and driver for developing a non-compromising safety culture in Gen2 Energy. The position will report to Head of HSSE.

Job description

  • Responsible for the implementation of Gen2 Energy's health & safety commitment and HSSE strategy in our projects and core activities
  • Process driver for the development and implementation of Gen2 Energy's Major Accident Prevention Strategy
  • Act as company risk & safety representative towards key project stakeholders including EPC contractors
  • Key contact point towards HSSE relevant authorities and regulators
  • Responsible for the development of a fit-for purpose process safety management system, and act as support to asset owners for its implementation
  • Develop internal risk assessment practices and methodology including training of own staff, and facilitate risk assessments and analysis workshops
  • Support asset owners and operation line managers in all relevant HSSE areas

Education and desired skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, risk- and safety management or similar
  • Good understanding of safety aspects related to the production-, processing and handling of dangerous substances, preferably gained through several years of professional work experience. Experience from operation of major hazard facilities would be an advantage.
  • Familiar with legislation and regulations related to handling- of flammable- and explosive materials in general, and for Hydrogen in particular
  • Ability to identify- and understand potential hazards and risk factors related to Gen2 Energy's activities. Develop programs for- & facilitation of suitable risk assessments- and analyses
  • Understanding of what is needed to jointly develop- and nurture a sound and sustainable safety culture
  • Structured and goal oriented way of working with a hands-on practical approach
  • Dedicated- and trustworthy team player with excellent communication skills and ability to engage and motivate others
  • Fluent in English and a Scandinavian language, both verbally and written
