Job Description
Join us in shaping the future of green hydrogen production. As a Field Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, stable, and efficient operation of our SOEC plant and its supporting systems. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys technical challenges, and wants to contribute directly to the global energy transition. Please note it's a time limited contract.
Your position
In your new position as Field Operator (Outside Operator) in the Operations division, you will be a valuable member of our dedicated Shift Team, whose mission is to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a SOEC green hydrogen plant. You will have the chance to work hands-on with cutting‑edge hydrogen technology and play a vital role in daily plant operations. Above all, your work will make a real difference for the global energy sector.

Your place of work will be at our Client in Northern part of Zealand, Denmark, onshore and the position is full‑time, and limited travel may occur depending on operational needs.
Your tasks & responsibilities
As a Field Operator, you will be responsible for supporting safe and reliable field operations across the SOEC plant and its full Balance of Plant (BoP).
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Performing routine field rounds and inspections using checklists, identifying leaks, abnormal noise/vibration, deviations, and safety hazards
- Responding to DCS alarms by verifying equipment status in the field and taking authorized local actions
- Executing local operations such as valve line‑ups, equipment checks, drains/vents/purges, inserting steps, and basic resets
- Supporting start‑up, shutdown, and abnormal operation activities through walkdowns and line‑up verifications
- Supporting PTW/LOTO execution, including applying locks/tags, verifying isolations, coordinating gas testing, and escorting contractors
- Managing housekeeping and environmental controls, including safe handling of drains and blowdowns
- Acting as first responder in assigned areas per the Emergency Response Plan
- Documenting rounds, defects, and near‑misses and contributing to shift handover notes
Your profile & qualifications
We are looking for an outgoing and positive Field Operator who is passionate about safe industrial operations and wants to leave their personal mark on the green hydrogen sector. You have a proactive and organised approach to your work and are eager to contribute to a high‑performance shift team.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- Experience operating industrial or pilot plants with high‑temperature or thermal systems
- Knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, loop drawings, and cause & effect / alarm philosophy
- Experience with hydrogen or other flammable gases in hazardous/ATEX areas
- Understanding of interlocks, safeguarding systems (ESD, trips, permissive), and gas detection
- Strong teamwork skills with control room, maintenance, HSE, and external vendors/OEMs
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and escalate early when operational trends drift
- Fluency in English and preferably Danish
- Knowledge of safety standards relevant to hydrogen and ATEX operations
