REVERION GmbH
Company Overview
REVERION GmbH (private German company, spin-off from the Technical University of Munich)
HeadquartersEresing, Germany
Founded2022
SizeApproximately 100 employees (source: linkedin.com)
What They Do
REVERION GmbH develops reversible high-temperature fuel cell power plants specifically designed for electricity generation from biogas and power-to-gas energy storage (source: linkedin.com). Their core product is a containerized, modular power plant based on patented high-temperature fuel cell systems, serving both as a decentralized power source and as long-term energy storage (source: reverion.com). In power generation mode, the system converts biogas into electricity with high electrical efficiency, while in storage mode it produces renewable gases such as hydrogen or methane through electrolysis (source: digital.eurotier.com). The product is designed as an "all-in-one" solution that is containerized, plug-and-play ready, and optimized for mass production (source: linkedin.com). Target markets primarily include farmers, biogas plant operators, and industrial customers who use biogas as a raw material or require a weather-independent, decentralized energy and storage solution (source: netzeroinsights.com).
Projects & Track Record
In September 2025, REVERION set a world record for the electrical efficiency of its high-temperature fuel cell power plants at 74.2%, marking a significant technological breakthrough (source: reverion.com). The company has already commissioned a 100 kW pre-series unit and is developing a 500 kW system, aiming to start serial production at the Eresing site from 2026 (source: reverion.com). The modular, containerized design allows for flexible and scalable use, suitable for both decentralized power generation and long-term storage solutions (source: digital.eurotier.com). The combination of high efficiency, reversible operation, and industrial mass production positions REVERION as an innovative provider in the renewable energy sector (source: linkedin.com).
Recent Developments
Over the past two years, REVERION has achieved several key milestones, including the successful world record efficiency measurement in 2025 (source: reverion.com). The company is preparing the transition from pre-series to serial production and is actively seeking a larger production facility in Germany to support growth (source: reverion.com). Strategic partnerships have been established with Doosan Fuel Cell for fuel cell technology and with Frontier for new biogas-based carbon removal pathways (source: reverion.com). Additionally, REVERION received funding of 19.5 million euros from the European Innovation Fund and completed a Series A financing round to advance industrial scaling (source: reverion.com). Andreas Aepli was appointed Chief Financial Officer to support the next phase of growth (source: reverion.com).
Working There
REVERION offers an interdisciplinary work environment with teams from engineering, production, automation, business, and human resources (source: reverion.com). The leadership team consists of founders Stephan Herrmann (CEO), Felix Fischer (COO), Jeremias Weinrich (CPO), Maximilian Hauck (CTO), and Luis Poblotzki (CDO), guiding the company through the transition from research and development to industrial serial production (source: reverion.com). Current and upcoming positions include product development, production ramp-up, automation, and industrial scaling, all based at the headquarters in Eresing (source: reverion.com). The planned expansion of production capacity could create up to 800 new jobs, indicating strong growth potential (source: reverion.com). The company positions itself as a climate-focused startup with high impact, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and building a production organization for serial manufacturing in Germany (source: reverion.com).

Job Description
At Reverion, we're on a mission to enable a decentralized, flexible, and carbon-negative energy system. And that's what drives us every day.
We are developing innovative, reversible power plants that can efficiently convert gases such as biogas or hydrogen into electricity and heat. When needed, the process can be reversed to transform renewable energy into storable green gases. With an efficiency of up to 80%, Reverion power plants are among the most efficient in the world.

Your mission
As Team Lead Cloud Engineering (m/f/x), you are the driving force at the intersection of PLC systems and modern cloud infrastructure. You lead a team that connects our plants, makes real-time data actionable, and actively drives digital solutions like our Remote Plant Operation Cockpit.
1/ Fleet Management & Operations
- You own and shape the strategy for plant connectivity and secure remote access.
- You optimize deployment processes (CI/CD) for over-the-air (OTA) updates in the field.
- You ensure that our plants can be monitored and controlled at all times.
2/ Data Infrastructure
- You lead the design and operation of a highly available data infrastructure.
- You manage modern time-series databases (e.g., InfluxDB, ClickHouse) and implement scalable streaming solutions (MQTT, Kafka).
- You ensure real-time processing of sensor data in close collaboration with our Data Analytics & Digital Solutions team.
3/ Services & Core Libraries
- You drive the development of central services and libraries (data logging, alarming systems).
- You are responsible for monitoring IT resources and integrating the field level (e.g., via EtherCAT).
- You support our PLC developers as well as application and control engineers with software development and feature implementation where needed.
4/ Leadership & Strategy
- You lead and mentor a team of software developers, supporting both technical and personal growth.
- You shape the long-term vision for our software stack and translate business requirements into a clear technical roadmap.
- As the interface between operations, engineering, and data science, you prioritize requirements and translate them into a structured product backlog.
Your profile

Don't meet all the requirements? Apply anyway!Studies show that men tend to apply when they meet around 60% of the criteria, while women and non-binary people often feel they need to meet significantly more requirements, even though they are equally well qualified. We are interested in the value you can bring, not in a perfect checklist. No one has everything, and that's completely okay.
And if you need any accommodations (e.g. additional time, assistive devices, or similar), just let us know - we'll make it possible!
