Mission

Conduct all Back Office processes related to the energy management activity of EDPR in the Chilean market including the settlement, valuation and reporting activities. These activities also include building and maintaining the relationship with different market agents, supporting other EDPR departments in energy management activities (e.g. Origination EDPR), and ensuring the compliance of the obligations arising from the contracts or operations executed.

Moreover, within the role’s responsibilities it is included support of market and regulatory topics in cooperation with EDPR Chilean Business Unit and other EDPR departments.

General Description

  • Perform the settlement process and follow up of activities and obligations related to market operations and/or physical contracts executed either by Origination EDPR or by the EDPR Chilean Business Unit. This includes both regulated and non-regulated energy sales and/or operations.
  • Perform the reporting activities required by internal and external stakeholders.

Main Accountabilities

  • Perform the settlement and valuation activities related to all energy sales in the Chilean market, both from the centralized market and/or bilateral contract sales, and either for regulated or non-regulated contracts.
  • Coordinate and reconcile the settlement processes with external stakeholders (market agents, counterparties, distributors) and coordinate and support internal stakeholders in invoicing and other related processes (Administration/Asset Management /Planning & Control/others)
  • Coordinate the correct set up of guarantees and collaterals (e.g. PCG, bank guarantees, cash) if required by Market Operators/Counterparties for the performance of operations and contracts.
  • Perform the required activities related to the issuance of environmental attributes related to EDPR projects (if any), monitoring the status and position of those. Coordinate the required activities with internal and external stakeholders to comply with the obligations arisen from the environmental attributes contracts.
  • Support other EDPR departments in Energy Management related operations and contracts (e.g. Origination, Asset Management, etc).
  • Interaction with different energy market stakeholders. Build and maintain relationship with different market agents, in order to ensure the compliance of energy market related obligations.
  • Follow up and monitor the Chilean energy market regulation, dynamics and operational processes affecting energy management.
  • Maintain the departmental reporting line (both periodic and especial purpose reports).
  • Support to Regulation and Markets corporate department in energy management regulation affecting EDPR activities in Chile.

Requirements

Required Academic Skills

  • Undergraduate required; prefer degrees in engineering, business or physic or maths science.

Language Skills

  • Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English is mandatory.
  • Fluency in Portuguese, is a plus. Other European languages are also valuable.

Professional Experience

4-5 years experience in a similar role.

IT Skills

  • Domain of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office package.
  • Domain of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Ability to manage databases and knowledge of other programming tools (Visual Basic or similar) would be valuable.

Knowledge

  • Deep knowledge and skills related to Regulation and Energy Markets in Chile are mandatory.
  • Professional experience in one or more of the following areas: electricity/energy markets, renewable regulation, transmission grid.
  • Responsible, organized, analytical, problem solving.

Other Skills

  • Used to work in an international environment and different geographies. Proactive person with the ability to manage complementary aspects of their functions in order to achieve the objectives set by the area and the Chilean business unit.
  • Location: Santiago de Chile.
