Prodrive Technologies is a global leader in electronics and mechatronic systems design and manufacturing. We specialize in delivering innovative solutions across various industries, including automotive, healthcare, semiconductor, and renewable energy.

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Embedded Electrical Engineer to join our team in Eindhoven. The Embedded Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and engineering fully automated test setups for products manufactured in our production lines. These setups are essential for product qualification and automated testing, requiring a multi-disciplinary approach with a strong focus on electrical engineering and embedded software development. The ideal candidate will possess a system-level mindset and excel in both hardware and software aspects of the role.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and engineer, alone or with a team, fully automated test setups for products manufactured in Prodrive Technologies' production lines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware developers, customer, and project managers, to define requirements and specifications for test setups.
  • Develop embedded software to control and automate test setups, ensuring reliability, efficiency, diagnostics and accuracy.
  • Design and implement hardware components, including circuit boards, sensors, actuators, and interfaces, to support automated testing.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, system integration, and validation testing to ensure the functionality and performance of test setups.
  • Optimize test setups for efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, considering factors such as throughput, cycle time, and resource utilization.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams, resolving issues related to test setups and equipment.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in embedded systems and automated testing, applying knowledge to continuous improvement initiatives.

Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in embedded systems design and development, with a focus on hardware and software integration.
  • Proficiency in embedded software development languages and tools, such as C/C++ and Python, and microcontroller programming.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and signal processing.
  • Experience with system-level thinking and the ability to translate requirements into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely.

Some of our projects for Embedded Electrical Engineers Test automation is working on the Prodrive Technologies goal of a Lights Out Factory. The electronic test system supports that goal by providing test equipment with a uniform interface and form factor, so manufacturing lines can easily be configured for the product’s needs. The test equipment includes power supplies, programming modules and measurement tools, all with a common interface to the test system. Combined with other projects, such as an in-house developed Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV), we are realizing the goal of a Lights Out Factory.
