Position Overview
Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Regional Manager – East Plant Operations to join our team within the Energy Asset Operations Group. Ameresco is looking for a highly motivated individual to Manage the day-to-day operations of our East Coast Landfill Gas, Biogas Generating facilities along with several Customer site operations Located in Massachusetts, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. This position will directly Manage the operations staff in the performance of Safety, Compliance, Maintenance, Budgeting, and production of all assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Plant Specialists at all assigned projects.
- Coordinate plant operations, and staff, to ensure all projects operate safely, efficient, and effective in accordance with all Safety, compliance, and Budget guidelines.
- Understand and enforce environmental compliance in accordance with all Company polices, local, State and Federal codes, rules, and regulations.
- Follow and enforce Safety in accordance with all Ameresco Safety policies and procedures. Ensure all staff, Vendors and contractors comply with all Safety guidelines.
- Regularly audit and inspect plant material, operational, Safety and compliance conditions, ensuring proactive and timely implementation of corrective measures.
- Work with Plant Specialists to organize work and meet critical deadlines in line with Budgeted and business objectives.
- Investigate and analyze malfunctions in plant operating machinery and equipment and take the necessary steps to correct issues and prevent further problems.
- Participate with other Region Managers, Director of Operations and Ameresco staff in creating and enforcing preventative maintenance program in accordance with Ameresco and manufacturer’s suggested maintenance schedule.
- Work with Plant Specialists to forecast and coordinate maintenance, repair, replacement stock, and inventory of interchangeable plant parts and equipment.
- Plan, schedule, and work with Plant Specialists to implement repair, replacement, maintenance, and expansion projects.
- Manage and coordinate with all assigned staff to ensure plant coverage during staff time off or absence.
- Inspect work performed by Plant Specialists and contractors to ensure completeness and compliance with manufacture recommendations and Ameresco policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all direct reports as well as all Ameresco staff, customers, vendors, and contractors.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Provide timely updates to Director -Plant Operations concerning any plant or personnel issues.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Collaborate with Director- Plant Operations to develop and implement Operating Budgets for all assigned project sites.
- Provide Timely and correct Budget forecast updates monthly or as requested.
- Train and develop new and current staff in Operations, maintenance, Safety, compliance, and Budget management as required.
- Prepare and provide various reports in a timely manner when requested.
- Report incidents in a timely manner and follow up with investigation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in STEM or related technical degree. Equivalent Experience, knowledge and Training will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years’ direct experience managing renewable energy power plant operations, including landfill/BIOGAS processing, utilization, and compliance; maintenance and repair subcontractor relationships; budgeting, staff, safety, and supporting resources.
Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrated regulatory agency compliance, OSHA, and safety training experience.
- Prior experience Managing power plant and/or Gas processing facilities utilizing reciprocating engines, combustion turbines, gas compression, Boilers, HRSG, treatment and processing equipment preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, computer and technical communication and presentation skills, including MS Office proficiency.
- Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
- Ability to provide on-call response.
- Frequent travel required.
