This role of Senior Consultant, will pursue client opportunities, project manage, and provide expertise to establish OWC as the preferred global advisor in renewables. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams globally. The Senior Consultant contributes to OWC's role in realizing client's renewable projects, handling TDD, Owner's Engineer roles, and analysis services as well as they will play a key role in achieving our ambitious business goals. What you will be doing

The responsibilities in this role include a wide range of tasks, but are not limited to:

  • Providing specialist advisory services and strategic guidance to clients on renewable energy projects, delivering within established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Leading, planning, managing and executing consultancy engagements across the full project lifecycle to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of the following, non-exhaustive list of services:
    • Technical Due Diligence for lenders, investors, vendors, etc.
    • Owner’s Engineer work, supporting developers and owners through design, procurement, and construction phases;
    • and Analysis services such as data and performance analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Managing project key performance indicators and budgets as well as teams to ensure optimal delivery of projects.
  • Leading research and development projects, which may involve creating innovative engineering tools and solutions giving OWC a competitive edge in the PV market.
  • Maintaining relevant deep domain expertise and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Providing technical support and leadership to technical teams, assisting in specialist domains and verification of deliverables to ensure quality.
  • Supervise, coach and develop team members on projects and through separate mentoring.
  • Building and nurturing client relationships, support new business opportunities, leverage networks and convert leads into contracts.
  • Leading the preparation of proposals aligned with business objectives and maintain CRM data.
  • Sharing knowledge and experience to elevate OWC's consultancy capabilities, through internal/external training, thought leadership, etc.
  • Supporting OWC to achieve business KPIs such as revenue, profitability and business development targets.
  • Ensuring deliverables and allocated projects comply with all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Undertake approximately 70% chargeable work and 30% non-chargeable tasks which may include business development, proposals, internal projects and development of staff.

What we are looking for

  • Candidate qualified with a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field. Holding a chartered membership of a relevant professional institutional body, or professional license in a field of expertise is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in an engineering /renewables consultancy with projects, particularly in solar PV or renewable-related projects.
  • A strong commercial background in engineering consultancy.
  • Good sales and business development techniques as well as an established network of clients.
  • The ability to establish effective business relationships and maintain a professional network.
  • Project-orientated with a keen interest and knowledge of the PV industry and project management.
  • Ability to coordinate, direct and lead projects and work under own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Strong technical knowledge and comprehensive overview of the development, construction and operational phase(s) of renewable projects.
  • Expertise in one or more typical subject matter areas, such as TDD.
  • Ability to project manage effectively, balance competing priorities, and manage others.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written German and English communication.

The following skills are considered desirable:

  • Project management ability, official project management qualification (e.g. IPMA, PMI)
  • Experience in the development, construction and operation of renewable projects.
  • Experience as Independent Engineer, Lender’s TA, Owner’s Engineer.
  • Understanding of technical and commercial aspects of renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with relevant software (PVSyst, Python, etc.)
  • Technical experience in degradation, energy modelling or similar.
  • Proficiency in other languages.
