Careers at Vestas

Tower Module is a department part of Vestas responsible for the research, design, and development of the wind turbines' tower products. Through innovation, development, and continuous product improvements, we continuously develop our products and technologies to reduce costs and ensure the integration of renewable energy. Your tasks will involve dynamic analyses, requirement management, design risk assessment and creation of certification documentation for the towers. Your team will consist of highly skilled engineers from diverse cultural backgrounds who work together to deliver towers to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex FEA projects and build robust Tower Design Verification methods compatible with perpetual design requirement changes
  • Review Design Verification reports and ensure that the qualifications match the latest standards
  • Maintain Tower FEA & Design Tool assets. Verify that the tools are up to date and continuously improve according to the needs of peers
  • Identify the new opportunities and govern the development of your functional area
  • Build technology roadmaps and strategic plans to advance for the future
  • Create, monitor and maintain the processes
  • Lead a team of FE Engineers, provide mentoring on FEA projects, identify skill gaps and build learning plans

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of FEA experience in Renewables, Automotive or Aerospace industry
  • Advanced level of proficiency in nonlinear mechanics, buckling, fatigue and other design failure mechanisms
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Ansys APDL/WB, parametric modelling, and scripting
  • Intermediate level of programming and automation, preferably with Python
  • Solid experience with Eurocode Design Standards
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
