The Supervisor II, Equipment will oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of solar manufacturing equipment. This role involves managing a team of technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of equipment technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure effective resource allocation and support team development.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and calibration of solar manufacturing equipment. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor and analyze equipment performance metrics. Identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all equipment operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment performance and efficiency. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement new technologies and best practices.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and modifications. Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain, to support equipment-related projects and address any operational challenges.
- Emergency Response: Act as a point of contact for equipment-related emergencies, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues to minimize production impact.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or technical diplomas are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance and supervision, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in the solar or renewable energy sector is advantageous.
Skills
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for equipment analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse teams.
Certifications
- Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance or safety are preferred.
