Job Description

Invenergy is seeking enthusiastic interns for the Summer 2025 Internship program, designed for students who are passionate about sustainable energy solutions. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various engineering departments, including Wind Renewable Engineering, Solar Renewable Engineering, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Interns will engage with leaders throughout the organization, participate in weekly lunch-and-learns, and visit nearby power plants such as the Grand Ridge Energy Center and Nelson Energy Center. The program emphasizes personal and professional growth, allowing interns to feel a sense of ownership and belonging within the company culture. Throughout the internship, participants will be involved in overseeing the technical design, evaluation, and construction of commercial and utility-scale projects. They will also conduct site visits, participate in community outreach, and gain insights into wind turbine technology and market trends. In Solar Renewable Engineering, interns will interface with project management and operations teams, conduct site evaluations, and prepare conceptual project layouts using CAD and GIS software. They will also optimize layouts to maximize project value and utilize performance modeling software to prepare energy production estimates. For those in BESS, the internship will involve working with OEMs to obtain technical information, preparing project layouts, and assisting with permitting efforts. The internship lasts for 10-12 weeks, from June to August, and includes opportunities for community engagement through the 'Volunteer Time Off' program, networking mixers, and lunch with the CEO.
