Job Description
Join the world's leading generator of solar energy as a Solar PV Technician at NextEra Energy. As a Solar PV Technician, you will be the critical front-line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all solar farm operations. Your primary focus will be on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance and diagnostics, as well as ensuring long-term reliability and profitability of the solar installations. This role is essential in implementing Operation Safety Policy Instructions and conducting field work in compliance with OSHA regulations, while also encouraging good employee safety practices and driving an unparalleled employee safety culture. In addition to safety responsibilities, you will participate in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects, which aim to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will also play a key role in recruiting and developing other technicians, contributing to the ongoing development of the team. Supporting the site manager, you will be involved in all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and ensuring turbine availability. Collaboration with internal NextEra users will be crucial as you develop and implement operation-focused feedback and solutions for both planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, and overall financial performance. As a representative of NextEra Energy, you will present a positive professional image in the community and with customers, reinforcing the company's commitment to renewable energy and sustainability. Responsibilities
- Ensure safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance and diagnostics.
- Implement Operation Safety Policy Instructions and conduct field work in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Encourage good employee safety practices and drive a strong safety culture.
- Participate in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects.
- Recruit and develop other technicians for ongoing team development.
- Support site manager in safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availability.
- Collaborate with internal users to develop and implement maintenance feedback and solutions.
- Present a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with customers.
- Perform reliability engineering and warranty management.
- Conduct electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs.
- Oversee mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Manage inventory and regulatory compliance.
- Operate heavy equipment as required.
Requirements
- High School Grad / GED
- 1+ years of experience in a related field
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
Nice-to-haves
- Trade School Graduate
- Licensed Electrician
- Licensed Master Electrician
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
