As a Grid Connections Officer in the Sustainable Business Energy Solutions (SBES) Team, you'll be responsible for the standardisation, submittal and receipt of utility application approvals required during delivery phases and supporting the Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in successfully obtaining the approvals required for delivery of Energy Solutions Projects.

We would consider part-time options also for this role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborating with the Engineering Technical Lead and Engineering Services Manager to set and maintain a comprehensive source of utility approval requirements, including required documentation, associated fees, and timelines.
  • Establishing and maintaining connections with utility businesses to influence and drive successful outcomes for utility application submittals.
  • Assisting Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Coordinators in submitting and obtaining utility approvals and successfully closing out projects by submitting post-installation documentation and verifying completion.
  • Providing training and guidance to SBES team members on the format and quality of inputs required for submission of approvals, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Drive the scoping and engagement of any third-party consultants required in support of these applications, including registered engineers, testing engineers etc.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in project approvals or project administration roles, and in the solar PV, energy, building, engineering or services industries is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with Project Managers, Project Coordinators internally, and demonstrated ability to manage third party stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to present information clearly and accurately is essential, strong written, verbal communication skills and document management experience.
  • Autonomy to follow defined processes to deliver approval outcomes, work at speed and adapt to shifting priorities, and identify and escalates risks and issues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a culture of health and safety.
