Job Description
The Field Operations High Voltage Technician III position at NextEra Energy involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of high voltage electrical systems. This entry-level role supports field operations, including inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage equipment, while adhering to safety regulations and company standards. The technician will collaborate with senior technicians and participate in various maintenance activities, contributing to the reliable delivery of electricity to the power grid.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the inspection and maintenance of high voltage equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Collaborating with senior technicians to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults and failures within the high voltage system.
- Conducting routine tests and measurements on high voltage equipment, accurately interpreting and documenting the results.
- Assisting in the commissioning of new high voltage equipment, adhering to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Participating in the scheduling and coordination of maintenance activities, minimizing disruption to the electrical system's operation.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance and condition of high voltage equipment, promptly reporting any abnormalities or potential issues.
- Assisting in the repair and replacement of faulty high voltage components, ensuring timely restoration of power supply.
- Following established safety protocols and procedures while working with high voltage equipment, minimizing risks to yourself and others.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in high voltage technology through continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements
- High School Grad / GED
- 1+ year of experience in a related field
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
