Job Description
Solar Landscape, the leading commercial and community solar developer in the United States, is seeking a Solar Project Engineer to join their growing team. The company has deployed over 500 megawatts of renewable energy projects totaling over $1 billion in capital investment and was named the #1 Distributed Generation developer for 2023.
The role involves overseeing, designing, and supporting commercial and grid-supplied Solar Photovoltaic systems. As a Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for preparing technical drawings, conducting site evaluations, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet technical requirements. You'll also provide crucial technical support to Commercial Sales and Finance teams while participating in customer presentations and managing interconnection processes.
The ideal candidate should possess an Engineering Degree and be proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office suite. Experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, or civil engineering design is essential, along with strong communication and analytical skills. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Support Design team as part of initial training process
- Oversee/Design/Support commercial and grid supplied Solar Photovoltaic systems
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications of PV systems
- Conduct detailed site evaluations
- Coordinate with structural, electrical, geotechnical, and civil Professional Engineers
- Provide technical support to Commercial Sales and Finance
- Participate in technical presentations to customers and investors
- Process interconnection paperwork with electric utilities
- Review specifications for purchases of materials or equipment
- Support Project Management and construction team
- Develop customer deliverables including concept module layouts and diagrams
- Assist with Request for Proposal review and response coordination
Requirements
- Engineering Degree
- Proficient with AutoCAD software and MS Office suite
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, or civil engineering design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
