Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and competent Customs Lead for the Customs matters in Tokyo, Japan, who develops plans and solutions in order to ensure customs compliance and process optimization. Contributes to the definition and implementation of Customs regulations in his/her area of responsibility.

  • Develops, implements and enforces guidelines, solutions and plans in order to optimize processes in his/her area of responsibility.

  • Contributes to the implementation of customs regulations and ensures accurate and consistent distribution of relevant information throughout the internal organization.

  • Collaborates with the authorities regarding customs approvals and clarifies general legal issues.

  • Monitors, control and ensures corrective actions derived from external and internal reviews and audits.

  • Carries out training and reviews to guarantee adherence to customs regulations.

  • Enables consulting for other organizational units as well as Best Practice Sharing.

  • Responsible for broker management in the Japan.

  • Together with the central function team to identify and analyze local and global customs related risks in business and processes and support implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.

We are looking for a motivated and competent Customs responsible in Japan. The Customs department is overall responsible for customs rules and regulations when importing and exporting goods and technology.

You have successfully completed a Degree in International Trade Management, Economics or related field.

You worked minimum 8-10 years in Customs areas, international supply chain functions, etc.

You have a good understanding of local Customs regulations, and familiarization with export control rules will be a plus.
