Job Description

The PV Solar Technician II will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and maintenance of NextEra Energy's photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery storage systems. As a member of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, the technician will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of clean energy systems. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of renewable energy systems, contributing to the company's mission of providing sustainable energy solutions. The technician will conduct routine preventive maintenance activities on solar panels, battery storage systems, and associated equipment, ensuring that all systems operate at peak performance levels. In addition to preventive maintenance, the technician will troubleshoot and undertake corrective maintenance to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring maximum system uptime and efficiency. Adhering to maintenance schedules and established procedures for inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and component replacements is critical. The technician will utilize monitoring software and tools to regularly monitor and analyze system performance, identifying deviations and inefficiencies that may arise. Generating performance reports and maintaining accurate records of system performance, including energy production, equipment status, and maintenance activities, will be part of the technician's responsibilities. Safety is a top priority, and the technician will follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and their colleagues. They will also adhere to environmental regulations and procedures during maintenance activities and waste management. Effective communication with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders regarding work progress, challenges, and recommendations is essential for the success of the operations and maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate documentation of O&M activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders regarding work progress, challenges, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • High School Grad / GED
  • 1+ years of experience in a related field
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

  • Trade School Graduate
  • Licensed Electrician
  • Licensed Master Electrician
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
