Job Description

Position Detail

FirstLight Power is looking for innovative, collaborative, and team-oriented summer temps to join our talented and dynamic team of individuals working to decarbonize the grid and accelerate the clean energy transformation.
The Engineering summer temp works with the Engineering Team on a series of projects identified. The intern will be based at Northfield Mountain Station. However, they will work on projects across all MA stations.
START DATE: June 02, 2025 END DATE: August 15, 2025
Pay rate: $18/hour
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Dam Safety rounds and inspections followed by generation of applicable reports
- Piezometer data review and input and trend development/ analysis for each piezometer/ weir
- Drawing updates and other engineering document review and cleanup
- Project oversight and documentation
- Preventative Maintenance Record reviews and updates
- Coordinate and shadow annual site survey(s) and data review
- Annual reporting data collection and document prep.
- Equipment performance monitoring (vibration, infrared, power consumption, etc)
- Monitor major maintenance activities and document findings

- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Comply with all FirstLight policies and procedures
Job Qualifications / Skills
- Actively enrolled and completed at least 2 years of a Civil or Mechanical engineering degree program from a regionally accredited university or college
- Experience with drafting software, preferrably AutoCAD
- Intermediate MS Suite skills
- Desire for exposure to the renewable energy industry, and/or passion for decarbonizing the grid
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as taking on individual tasks
- Proactive at asking questions, seeking to understand, and making recommendations for improvement
- Desire to innovate, think of new ideas, and solve for bigger problems
- Desire to foster an inclusive environment
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
