Your mission

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (f/m/x) driven by the quality and pragmatism of their work. Eager to work in a fast-paced technology scale-up, share their knowledge and experience with our team, and continue their own development sparring with colleagues.

Key goals

  • Develop web services in Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy), PostgreSQL, Docker & Kubernetes & Helm.
  • Deliver well-tested production components using a pragmatic choice of best practices.
  • Drive and own feature implementation for in-time delivery.
  • Support Frontend engineers by implementing the right APIs and providing BE insights, with an eye on implementation times, usability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from frontend, backend, optimization, and ML.

Your profile

  • At least 6 years’ professional experience delivering scalable and maintainable web applications.
  • Experience with event-based architectures & message brokers (e.g. Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ).
  • Solid understanding of software design, including typical cloud and web applications.
  • Experience with Python, or similar dynamically typed stacks and strong motivation to learn Python.
  • Excellent communication in English and the ability to work in an agile, cross-functional environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Contributed to and accompanied to production multiple web applications in different contexts.
  • Designed scalable web applications from scratch and/or made existing systems scalable.
  • Experience with make or buy decisions on standard componentry, e.g., DBs, IAM, tracing, logging.
  • Full-stack development.

Salary

We offer market conform salaries with appropriate payment based on individual skills and experience. For this position, for candidates fulfilling the above-mentioned must-haves & majority nice-to-haves, we envision a yearly (fulltime) salary starting 75.000 EUR.
