We are looking for a Performance Engineer to support the operations and optimization of our growing fleet of renewable and distributed energy assets. You will report to our Director of Client Success and work a hybrid schedule at our New York City office.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Drive the data aggregation and analytics of Scale’s growing fleet of operating assets
  • Develop and maintain large, complex datasets to find valuable and actionable insights for internal stakeholders and customers
  • Analyze performance of operating assets to identify underperformance and recommend ways to improve operations to increase customer savings and reduce maintenance
  • Collaborate with client success, engineering, product, and capital solutions teams to develop reporting capabilities for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collect and clean data from various internal and external data reporting and monitoring software platforms
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Continuously update project and portfolio level KPI tracking reports and find ways to improve upon tracking processes
  • Track key success metrics for each asset and communicate progress against those metrics to internal teams
  • Recommend and implement business process updates that support asset management reporting
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage, enhance, and optimize the performance of operating assets
  • Assist in developing data models and predictive analytic tools

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience working in a data analytics or asset management role preferably in a clean energy or industrial environment
  • Proficient at extracting and summarizing large amounts of data and analyzing information to provide meaningful insights
  • Experience developing automated reporting systems with business intelligence tools
  • Experience developing analytics dashboards that are useful and visually compelling
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or experience with statistical tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Fundamental understanding of energy markets and DER’s
  • Baseline knowledge of electrical infrastructure in commercial and industrial facilities
  • Ability to succeed in ambiguous and autonomous environments
  • Sound decision-making with the ability to balance both short-term and long-term needs
  • Ability to relay complex concepts in a simplified manner
