Job Description

At PosiGen, we are passionate about providing money saving solar energy and energy efficiency solutions for people of all income levels. We are seeking an equally passionate Field Service Technician to help further our mission through excellent craftsmanship, customer service, and a team-focused approach.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage and maintain the warranty and service schedule, ensuring timely communication and completion of work with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assemble mechanical systems for ground- and roof-mounted solar systems, including racking, solar arrays, and proper sealing of roof penetrations.
  • Conduct physical site inspections using various tools, such as measuring devices, hand tools, ladders, multi-meters, and personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Field Service Tech III to allocate labor resources for service and warranty projects.
  • Complete and update Field Service Dispatches (FSDs) within Salesforce and assist with electrical FSDs as needed.
  • Perform project clean-up to maintain an organized job site and work vehicle.
  • Adhere to company policies and OSHA regulations, completing required training as necessary.
  • Participate in company-sponsored trainings, workshops, and meetings.
  • Assist in managing and tracking job progress to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school degree in construction, building sciences, engineering, or architecture preferred.
  • Actively licensed as an Electrician in applicable state(s); relevant work experience may be considered in place of a license where applicable.
  • 1+ year of residential solar experience is required, including hands-on work with the electrical components of rooftop photovoltaic systems.
  • OSHA 10 certification required upon hire or must be obtained within three (3) months of employment.
  • Experience in estimating or site auditing is preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred, especially in roles requiring direct interaction with homeowners or clients.
  • Proficiency with computers and software, including Google Workspace, with the ability to learn and utilize platforms like Dropbox and Salesforce (CRM) across multiple devices (laptops, tablets, and smartphones).
  • Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or under mobile homes.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks in various work environments.
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Willing to move through the pre-employment screening process.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in a variety of extreme environmental conditions (e.g., high heat, cold temperatures).
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, ascend/descend stairs, and work on rooftops of multi-level buildings, as well as within confined spaces such as attics.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly be required to speak and hear. The role frequently requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50-70 pounds.
  • The employee will occasionally need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.
