Careers at Helion Energy

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.

This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths – values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

What You Will Be Doing

As Facilities Operations Manager, you'll lead the planning and execution of facilities operations across our growing portfolio—bridging day-to-day reliability with long-term infrastructure strategy. You'll serve as a key partner to Facilities leadership, driving operational rigor, vendor performance, and capital planning.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-accountability, technically complex environment and knows how to build scalable systems that keep critical facilities safe, efficient, and future-ready. This is an onsite role reporting directly to our Senior Manager of Facilities in our Everett, WA headquarters.

You Will

  • Lead operational planning and coordination across sites, including preventive maintenance, inspections, and compliance tracking
  • Manage or support vendor strategy across cleaning, maintenance, HVAC, waste, and life safety systems
  • Define SLAs, measure performance, and drive accountability across third-party providers
  • Ensure alignment of vendor execution with internal standards and facilities strategy
  • Assist with annual and multi-year budget planning, including operating expenses and capital upgrades
  • Develop business cases for facilities investments, cost-saving initiatives, and deferred maintenance catch-up
  • Manage Environmental services team to ensure that offices, restrooms and common areas remain clean, functional, and fully stocked
  • Manage digital cleaning checklists (e.g., in Manifestly), ensuring timely updates and issue escalation
  • Oversee task tracking, inventory availability, and resolution of quality concerns
  • Assist with long-range planning inputs: headcount forecasts, space utilization, lifecycle costs, and system renewal plans
  • Support facilities roadmap development, including major upgrades, expansion planning, and operational risk mitigation

Required Skills

  • At least 10 years of experience in facilities management and supervisory roles
  • The ability to identify failure points and remove them from our operations
  • Clear communicator who can operate at the tactical and strategic level
  • Expertise in CMMS administration and implementation
  • Experience preparing professional-grade documents, procedures, and reports
  • Previous experience in a hands-on maintenance role is desired but not required

Final compensation is determined through a holistic evaluation of your experience, qualifications, and our commitment to internal equity - ensuring fairness and transparency across our teams. This is an exempt salaried role.
