The Strategic Industries Manager - Renewable Energies is responsible for building strategic relationships with partners and potential customers in the renewable energy field including but not limited to: Utility scale Solar, Wind, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and in-front-of-the-meter applications. They develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact as well as thorough research of current and future business opportunities. The Strategic Industries Manager works with Marketing, Sales, and Product Development teams to deliver on business development initiatives.

Core Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with Director of Sales to set sales strategy and ensure targeted growth
  • Creates short and long term business plans for specified fields
  • Conducts market research and analysis to identify trends, capabilities, and solutions from third-party and internal data
  • Defines market potential (total addressable market) and Inductive Automation’s target market
  • Defines Edge to Cloud customer needs and use cases
  • Outlines existing product gaps and new product needs
  • Identifies staff, integrator, distributor, and other partnering needs
  • Directly manages and grows a subset of Industry Account and Integrator sales to meet sales objectives
  • Provide sales support and industry training to other sales team members with accounts and integrators
  • Collaborates with Product Management to define key technical drivers and required certifications, directly influencing market expansion and sales growth
  • Works with the Marketing Division on industry specific content writing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Manufacturing Information Technology or related discipline is required
  • 10+ years’ experience in technical Business Development/Sales
  • Software industry experience required, particularly with Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Wonderware, as well as Ignition
  • Global experience with strategic sales, direct sales, and indirect sales
  • Deep industry knowledge including solution architecture of Utility Scale Renewable Energy and the use cases for SCADA software and its interaction with IT, OT and Cloud Systems
  • Must have market analysis experience in Utility Scale Renewable Energy
  • Experience with both perpetual and SaaS/recurring revenue sales models
  • Remote based but willing to travel domestically and internationally to IA’s corporate office, customer locations and industry shows
