Role Summary

Renewable Energy Systems (RES), an expanding Wind, Solar, Energy Storage, and Transmission company, is seeking a commercially driven and technically proficient Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our advanced energy storage and grid integration offerings across Europe. This role focuses on promoting Energy Management Systems (EMS), Power Plant Controllers (PPCs), and engineering-integrated services that enable grid compliance, asset optimization, and hybrid power plant performance.

Accountabilities

Market Development & Strategy

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in digital storage, EMS, and PPCs.
  • Analyse European energy markets, grid codes, and regulatory trends to shape regional go-to-market strategies.
  • Support the localization of solutions offerings to meet align with country-specific compliance and performance needs requirements.

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Lead the full sales cycle for EMS and PPC-enabled storage solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, IPPs, EPCs, developers, and large energy users.
  • Promote engineering-integrated services such as grid studies, system commissioning, and system integration.
  • Identify commercial structures, negotiate commercial terms and close deals to drive our revenue.

Solution Positioning

  • Clearly communicate Articulate the value of EMS platforms, PPCs, and SCADA integration in hybrid and storage-based systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to tailor solutions to customer needs.
  • Deliver technical presentations, proposals, and commercial offers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure customer success.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical forums across Europe.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and market intelligence.
  • Monitor competitor activity and evolving grid requirements across European markets.

Experience

  • Experience with hybrid power plants, Battery energy storage systems (BESS), and renewable energy integration.
  • Familiarity with ENTSO-E grid codes, TSO/DSO requirements, and ancillary services.
  • Background in control systems, power electronics, or grid compliance engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or technical sales in EMS, PPCs, or energy storage systems solutions.
  • Strong Deep understanding of grid codes, SCADA systems, energy storage supply chains/trends and energy automation technologies.
  • Proven track record of closing complex technical sales and managing long sales cycles.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe.
