As a Senior Civil Engineer specializing in concrete structures, you will support the design and verification of concrete and hybrid towers for wind turbines. In this role, you’ll apply your structural expertise to ensure the safety, durability and efficiency of our renewable energy systems – working closely with internal teams, external partners, and certifiers.
Your Tasks
- Ensure structural integrity under various wind and load conditions.
- Create clear and well-structured technical reports documenting your analysis and results.
- Develop and improve calculation methods for continuous advancement of the team’s capabilities.
- Carry out structural analysis and verification of concrete towers using FEM tools (e.g. ANSYS, Abaqus) based on site-specific conditions.
- Collaborate with other engineering departments, component suppliers, manufacturers and external experts.
- Contribute to certification processes and technical documentation in line with Nordex project standards.
- Support the integration of concrete tower components into wind turbine systems.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis, ideally in the wind energy sector.
- Solid knowledge of fatigue analysis, structural dynamics, and prestressed concrete.
- Familiarity with relevant standards such as IEC 61400-6, Eurocodes, Model Codes and DIBt.
- Experience with fatigue-stressed concrete and steel structures, ideally towers or foundations.
- Proven expertise in FEM simulation tools like ANSYS or Abaqus.
- Understanding of bolted flange connections according to Eurocode.
- Team player with proactive mindset and strong communication skills.
- Optional: Programming skills for engineering applications.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German or Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
