Job Description

Employees in this role apply experience in performing mid- level maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generator sets. This includes the replacement or up tower repair of mid- level components including but not limited to generator bearings and yaw drives across multiple platforms such as GE, Siemens, and Vestas.

The ideal location for this candidate would be in the western United States and within driving distance to a wind site. This position includes 80% travel.

Job Overview

Employees in this role perform maintenance and repair activities on wind turbine generators. Individuals conduct precision measurement, generator alignment, bearing replacement, and torque checks.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Under general supervision:

  • Travels extensively with little or no notice within the entire company fleet
  • Performs maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment with qualified leader experience
  • Performs electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Maintains all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
  • Applies an advanced understanding of all technical and process functions as well as a solid understanding of the Quality Improvement (QI) processes
  • Provides oversight to other personnel and serves in the capacity of Safety Mentor
  • Functions as a quality mentor and facilitates lead yellow belt training within team
  • Participates as team leader by organizing pre and post job meetings, communicating with site management, and ordering parts/materials
  • Leads daily crew meetings as required
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Experience: 3+ years in a technical field, OR completion of a technical certificate/degree program
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
  • Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet
  • Post-Offer Functional Capacity Eval

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree

The estimated base pay for this position is $63,200.00 to $94,800.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
