Job Description
Terra-Gen is a growing responsible developer and operator of utility-scale wind, solar and battery energy storage facilities in California, New York, and Texas. This role will assist Terra-Gen's Compliance programs.
The right person for this position is dependable, self-motivated, organized, able to collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environment, take direction, and complete tasks in a thorough and efficient manner. They require general supervision to successfully develop, implement, drive, and support the NERC Compliance and Reliability programs for the renewable energy generation sector (solar, battery energy storage systems and wind).
This person will develop, implement, and report on the company-wide regular compliance programs. They will have direct responsibility for implementing NERC compliance policies and procedures and actively support site managers.
This role is a full-time hybrid position, working primarily remotely (from home) and making periodic trips to facilities in Southern California (Mojave, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside County) and Texas (McCook, Big Springs). Over time, there could be additional projects in New York with periodic travel required to these locations.
This is a new role, and the individual will be a key member of Terra-Gen's NERC Compliance team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the Terra-Gen NERC Reliability Compliance Program and other associated programs and initiatives designed to demonstrate compliance with state commission, regional, and ERO Enterprise regulations, such as WECC, CPUC, CAISO, PUCT, and ERCOT.
- Responsible for submitting self-certifications, data submittals, and evidence for NERC O&P compliance audit.
- Maintain and organize NERC Reliability Compliance Program compliance evidence.
- Maintain engineering and O&M records required by company compliance programs and individual NERC-registered projects.
- Responsible for supporting the Regulatory Compliance Engineer with NERC O&P compliance investigations, documenting root cause analysis, submitting self-reports, and creating mitigation plans.
- Support the NERC Compliance Department and Terra-Gen Operations Managers and Engineering Department in developing and implementing internal controls for NERC operations and planning (O&P) standards
- Stay up to date with changes to the NERC O&P standards.
- Manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
- Role is expected to have periodic overnight travel to job sites and meetings.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director NERC Compliance.

Minimum Requirements
Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint. Experience with NERC operations and planning standards (i.e., EOP, FAC, PRC, MOD, PER), regulatory compliance and auditing practices. High level written communication skills and proven ability to generate and deliver written policies and procedures. Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring a compliance culture.
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Program Management, Engineering, Business, Mathematics or other business management-related degrees.
- Three to five years of experience in utility, NERC O&P compliance, regulatory or related experience.
- Three to five years' compliance experience working with NERC O&P Reliability Standards required

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Experience in electrical utility operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with NERC O&P standards and the Bulk Electric System is a plus.
- Certificates in training development, technical or structural writing, and project management are a plus.

The posted compensation is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This salary range may also be modified in the future, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
